Laura Barnard
Author Bio:
My name is Laura Barnard and I am an author from
Hertfordshire, UK. I'm the chick-lit author of The Debt & the Doormat, The
Baby & the Bride, Tequila & Tea Bags and Dopey Women.
In my spare time I enjoy drinking my body weight in tea, indulging in cupcakes
the size of my face, drooling over hunks like Jamie Dornan, Ryan Gosling and
Leo Dicaprio...oh and my husband of course :-) I like wearing yoga clothes and
reading fitness magazines while I sit on the sofa and eat chocolate. I'm a real
fan of the power nap and of course, READING!
I write not to get rich or famous, but because I LOVE writing. Even if one
person tells me they enjoyed my book it makes the midnight typing worth it!

Poppy and Jazz have been best friends from the
first week of university. Whenever these two get together trouble isn’t far
away and things haven’t changed much. When Jazz gets herself into financial
trouble Poppy, being a good friend, offers to help. She instead ends up being
talked into swapping lives, with Jazz insisting it will be good and help her
get over her broken heart.
Poppy is thrown into a new life, full of crazy housemates. There’s fitness
freak Izzy, horrendously beautiful bitch Grace and the slightly gorgeous, if
not incredibly grumpy Ryan.
Quickly, with the help of Jazz, her life is thrown upside down. Madness ensues
and her need to please everyone gets her in more trouble than she could ever
imagine.
Before she knows it she’s got a fake boyfriend and is hiding so many secrets
she’s scared they’ll spill out any minute. With a bullying boss, a sex crazed
colleague, a mental mother and three brothers each with their own dramas, life
has gotten pretty difficult for Poppy. And all of this would be much easier, if
she could just stop falling over.
Will she get her life back to normal before her brother’s upcoming wedding? And
will she want to?

Poppy and Jazz’s lives sound perfect on paper.
Jazz has a new baby and Poppy’s getting married. But their realities are very
different.
Poppy must strive to keep her cool new job with crazy hours, while trying to
keep Ryan happy. Before she knows it her wedding has got out of control, thanks
to her mother, the runners at work are bullying her, her parents are in
financial difficulty and she’s doubting everything and everyone she ever knew.
Meanwhile Jazz is struggling with motherhood, something a credit card won’t
fix. Why won’t this baby give her a break? Will Jazz be able to cope before she
loses it?
And will Poppy make it down the aisle? Will Ryan even be waiting?

Sent to live with her cousin Elsie in the
Yorkshire countryside, Rose has only one thing on her mind; joining her friends
as a club rep in Mexico.
When she hears about a council incentive offering the promise of free flights
to the person who clocks the most volunteering hours at the local care home,
she’s got her plan set.
But she doesn’t plan on bonding with the old ladies, going after the village
bad boy and trying to persuade Elsie not to become a Nun.
Soon she’s questioning who her real friends are and whether her old life is one
she wants to return to.
Can the village win her over and will she win the chance to leave it behind?
Will she even want to?

Sadie had a bumpy upbringing but she’s still
managed to drag herself out and carve a career for herself. That all comes
crashing down when she, along with the women she manages; Mags, Lexi &
Steph, get made redundant. She’s screwed. In hindsight she shouldn’t have
attacked her colleague in a moment of rage. There goes the reference.
When they all bump into each other a few months later at the job centre Sadie
finds she’s not the only one in a hole. Steph’s boyfriend has left her holding
the baby, Lexi’s stuck in an abusive relationship and poor Mags has breast
cancer. They’re all struggling to keep on top of their bills. They all need
money to get out of their situations, its as simple as that.
Mags mentions that some women find marijuana helps ease the sickness caused by
chemo. With the desperation mounting and the coffee spurring them on they
somehow decide to start growing it. They’re only going to sell to ladies going
through chemo, so its not too bad, right? They’re not going to be proper drug
dealers. And its only temporary.
They didn’t bet on the business taking off so well though. Before they know it
they’ve got orders coming out of their ears, a sexy detective on their trail,
suspicious neighbours and drug dealers angry they’re working on their patch.
Can Sadie pull them out of this dangerous world they’ve found themselves in?
And can she do it before they end up in prison?
